Jay returned and the following weekend we celebrated spring break by renting a beach house for a few days. Ahhhh... I did NOT want to leave ha ha. We had his brother and mom out first and following their departure his other brother and gf, Emily. Brooklyn absolutely LOVED her!
After they left, a few weeks went by and I started spring cleaning. I started with the attic by clearing out all of the baby things Brycen had outgrown. Within a few days, we were officially into toddlerhood and I could actually see the floor of my attic (despite still not being able to walk in there ha ha).
Little did I know at this time that we had a little too much fun at the beach house and are currently expecting little Colbert #3 at Christmas. ha ha ha Jokes on us! We are very happy and excited! Brooklyn of course is hoping and probably praying for a sister and Brycen has no idea he's about to have to share his mommy that he has become an appendage of. I'm sure we will all adjust in the end.
As for me, I'm sick, exhausted and most days look like I've been on a very long roadtrip with two kids...you know? Greasy hair, sloppy clothes, frazzled hair, etc. I feel like I've been on a windy road and had one too many cheetos. Like I said roadtrip and car sick...every dang day! On a positive note I'm finally about to finish my BA in education! Woo Hoo! I'm into second trimester and am praying for a few extra drops of energy to finish school and keep these kids entertained all summer.
Brycen is talking and walking now. I should say running because the second his feet hit the ground he's off! He loves giving kisses and saying I love you. He has quite an obsession with Elmo and walks around asking for him. The second my laptop opens he tries to type and somehow you tube will appear with Elmo. (Yes I'm blogging in hiding right now) He LOVES my jewelry and loves to be told how nice he looks ha ha ha. He will probably hate me one day for saying that. He is so sweet and charming but also stubborn as well. He has figured out that screaming in public is a surefire way to get what he wants. Such fun times! ha ha. Family restaurant dinners have been put on hold for this stage of his life. Our challenges at this stage are stranger anxiety, tantrums, separation anxiety and bottle attachment. So other than that, he's a very happy boy!
His big Sis, little miss Brooklyn is officially a first grader! I'm so proud of her! Every year is an accomplishment. Unfortunately for her it seems she has my genes and is not as interested in studies as she is with socializing. She does like reading and can read and write short stories. She is also quite the artist. Her latest drawing are posted all over for her brother. Can you guess what she drew him? If you guessed Elmo, you are correct! I'll post a pic. It's pretty cute! They sure love each other! She is getting very excited about our plans this summer, especially our 3 week trip to Seattle and area.
Anyways, last but not least Happy Fathers Day! Jason is finishing his time on the USS Tennessee this year until Jan 12. He is hoping for Japan orders for all of us and is currently pretty miserable at his current position, but is happy to have slid into his new job that will pay very well once he retires from the navy. Well for now that's it in a nutshell. Will post some new pics!
Love it!!!! The elmo part is sooo very cute!
